The number of senior drivers is expected to soar by 70 percent in the next 20 years but many adults are reluctant to talk to their aging parents about their driving abilities.
They would prefer to discuss and plan their parent’s funeral rather than question whether their mother or father should still get behind the wheel, according to a new released survey.
“As the number of seniors on the road increases, so does their exposure to fatal accidents, so we really need to deal with some of the issues seniors are facing on the road in terms of impaired eye sight and mobility,” said John Kennedy, executive director of National Safety Council (NSC) Defensive Driving Programs, which commissioned the study. Russia explained how the system of video fixation of violations is going to function
In Russia during the years 2008 – 2009 will be created the system of video fixation of violation of traffic rules integrated with data base of vehicles. The data base includes: persons attracted to criminal responsibility for violation of traffic rules, stolen cars, as well as database of Saving bank (SberBank) and “Russian Post office”. Drivers in New Zealand’s largest city of Auckland are turning to inflatable passengers to try and beat transit lane rules. Blow-up dolls, shop mannequins and dogs dressed up as children have all been used to try and justify driving in lanes where vehicles are required to have at least three occupants.

Hollywood stats requested to keep them away from smokers
Hollywood stars Charlize Theron and Will Smith has participated on the 30th Moscow International Film Festival to present their new movie – Hankock directed by Piter Ber. The organizer of the festival stated that nor Charlize Theron neither Will Smith have not demanded any special request from hosting party before coming to Russia. “However both Hollywood stars asked to keep them away from smoking people; there should not be strictly anyone who smokes among service personnel – drivers, bodyguards etc” – was emphasized by the organizers.
