Members of PACE pre-election observation mission to be sent to Azerbaijan known

ASHPA_Parlament_AssambleyasiObservation Mission of the Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be on a visit to Baku on September 11-13 to study pre-election situation in Azerbaijan. APA’s Europe correspondent reports that the delegation consisting of 7 persons will be led by UK MP Robert Walter. The delegation will hold meetings with the President of the country and candidate for presidency Ilham Aliyev, Speaker of Milli Majlis, Interior Minister, candidates for presidency, representatives of opposition parties brought together in the National Council.

Moreover, meetings are also planned with the members of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE, chairman of Central Election Commission, representatives of non-governmental organizations and media. A written statement is expected to be released on the last day of the mission.
