The European Parliament will take a decision on sending election observation delegations to Azerbaijan on September 12, APA reports quoting EP’s press service. The European Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (the leaders of the political groups) has drawn up a priority list for election observations in the second half of 2013. On the list are Azerbaijan, Georgia, Honduras, Nepal and Tajikistan.
The Conference of Presidents will decide at a later stage on the sending of election observation delegations in each separate case. Thus, on 12 September a decision will be taken on sending a delegation to Azerbaijan.
In 2013 the European Parliament has so far sent six delegations to observe elections inJordan, Armenia, Kenya, Paraguay, Pakistan and Mali.
