On 17^th of May 2007 from 11⁰⁰ to 12⁰⁰ AM was organized a presentation ceremony of the campaign “DON’T SAY NO to your health, future and prosperity!” in the International Press Center, conducted by the “ELS” Independent Research Center with support of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Youth and Sport, IREX Internet Access and Training Program (IATP).

The aim of this campaign conducted from the 1^st of May to 31^st of May dedicated to the International Anti Tobacco Day is propagation of healthy life style, research of reasons of gaining habits dangerous for life and ways of getting rid of them. Davamı →

The ELS Independent Research Center plans to carry out the Round table on the topic “Who is responsible for low culture of pedestrian?» On December 19, 2006 in the International Press centre from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Representatives of the Cabinet, Milli Mejlis (parliament), executive authority of districts of Baku, corresponding ministries and departments, experts, non – governmental organizations and journalists were invited and participated in action. 4 – 11^th of May 2007 was conducted poll among high school pupils and students at schools and higher education institutes of Baku on topic “How to avoid youth from smoking?”. Questionnaires were prepared by the “ELS” Independent Research Center and the poll was conducted by volunteers of the Center. During the poll there were taken interviews from more than 600 high school pupils and students getting education in the field of medicine and other specialties (it is written as “non medical” on report). In order to provide anonymous of the poll the questionnaires were filled in by respondents personally. The aim of the poll was to identify modern youth’s attitude to smoking, research the reasons why they gain this kind of habits and search for the ways of combating it. Davamı →

Smoking is one of the global problems spread around the world. The policy conducted in Azerbaijan in propagation of healthy lifestyle, ratification of the May 21, 2003 Framework Convention of the World Health Organization on combating cigarette by our country at November 1, 2005, a prohibition applied to the advertisement of tobacco products has created opportunity to the achievement of several successes in this field. On 31^th of May 2007 was organized the First Republican Exhibition of Youth Organizations by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Republic. The “ELS” Independent Research Center has taken an active participation in exhibition through dissemination of posters against tobacco. The posters were issued within the campaign “DON’T SAY NO to your health, future and prosperity!” conducted with support of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Republic, World Health Organization and IREX Internet Access and Training Program (IATP). Dissemination of posters was realized by the volunteers of the “ELS” IRC, attracting the interest of participants as well as the guests of the exhibition.
